Germany, Sweden and Poland have simultaneously announced the expulsion of Russian diplomats as a response to Russia expelling the diplomats of their countries who are blamed for participating in the prohibited demonstrations of the opposition in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Interfax reported.

The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared an employee of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Berlin as persona non grata as a response to the expulsion of the employee of the German Embassy from Moscow, while Sweden’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared an employee of the Russian Embassy in Stockholm as persona non grata.

The Polish MFA, in compliance with the principle of reciprocity, declared an employee of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Poznan as persona non grata.
