Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Tuesday the newly appointed Chinese ambassador Fan Yong.

Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the diplomat and wished him fruitful work for the benefit of the development of Armenian-Chinese relations.

Armenia and China have intensive relations, while Chinese business, culture, education are tangibly represented in Armenia, the PM said.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, in 2020 - despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic - the volume of exports from Armenia to China has increased, which testifies to the positive dynamics of bilateral trade.

The sides exchanged views on the situation in Artsakh following the Nagorno-Karabakh war. The Prime Minister thanked China for its impartial position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting that the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh's status remains unresolved, and Armenia attaches importance to the talks within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

The envoy, in turn, noted that China supports the establishment of security, stability, and peaceful cooperation in the region and supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
