Acting Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the regional governor’s office of Shirak Province Araksya Kirakosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the road from Gyumri to Yerevan is now open.

“Governor of Shirak Province Hovhannes Harutyunyan negotiated with the parents and relatives of the prisoners of war. Chief of Police of Shirak Province Aram Ghazaryan had also been negotiating with them throughout the day, and through his direct mediation and efforts, an agreement was reached to open the road under the condition that the parents and relatives have a meeting with the director of the National Security Service tomorrow,” Kirakosyan said.

Today the parents and relatives of prisoners of war had shut down the road from Gyumri to Yerevan.
