YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received on Friday European Union External Action Service Managing Director for Russia, Eastern Neighborhood and the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajčák.
President Sargsyan congratulated Lajčák on his appointment expressing hope that the External Action Service will give a new breath to EU’s foreign policy, presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Since gaining independence, rapprochement and cooperation with the EU were one of Armenia’s key objectives. Importance of cooperation is gradually increasing. We realize that this process is mutually beneficial, and we fully associate the reforms in our country with this cooperation. I welcome you in Armenia. I am confident that your visit will give an impetus for the development of our relations,” president added.
