The University of Oxford will test its joint COVID-19 vaccine with AstraZeneca for children aged 6-17.

The research will be carried out at three centers in London, Southampton, and Bristol. 

Previous trials of the vaccine have shown its safety in adults, and new studies will assess whether a sufficient immune response to ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 is produced in children aged 6-17, the university said in a statement.

The study will involve 300 volunteers, 240 of whom will receive the vaccine.
