The process of impeachment of Donald Trump in the US Senate lasted only five days.
As expected, the final verdict was that the former US president was not guilty of inciting the attack on the Capitol, according to the BBC.
There have already been four presidential impeachment trials in US history, but this process was certainly the shortest.
A precedent was set for trying a former US president.
According to Reuters, in the 100-seat Senate, at least 17 Republicans had to join the 48 Democrats and two independent senators to impeach the former US president. But the Republicans backed Donald Trump.
The attack on the Capitol took place on January 6, during which five people were killed.
