The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction today rejected the motion to replace arrest — selected as a pre-trial measure against Sergey Kharatyan and Edgar Grigoryan who entered the government building on the night of November 9, 2020 — with release on bail.
The amount for release on bail was AMD 15,000,000.
During a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Alexander Kochubayev, one of their attorneys, said the court is being repressed and that the charge brought against Kharatyan and Grigoryan is extremely indefinite and abstract since Kharatyan has personally testified that he is the person seen in the video.
Kochubayev also stated that this is the second time the court is rejecting his motion to replace arrest with release on bail.
After the trilateral statement signed on November 9, 2020, a group of citizens entered the government building, the National Assembly and the governmental mansion, after which Nikol Pashinyan declared that his perfume, computer and watch had been robbed. The National Security Service launched a criminal case, the separated part of which has been forwarded to the court with regard to the accused.
