When religious matters become political the situation changes abruptly, Georgian politician Soso Tsintsadze told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the visit of Armenian Catholicos to Georgia.

“I cannot say what the main goal of the visit is yet. However, Armenia and Georgia have been neighbors for ages and there are many subtle questions that must be solved very carefully,” the politician stated.

Referring to the status of Armenian Apostolic church by the Georgian diocese the church must protect itself from attacks and do the best to preserve its independence, Tsintsnadze stated.
