The US Department did not propose new sanctions in its report to Congress on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Bloomberg reported.

According to the agency, the State Department mentioned the violation of US sanctions by the pipelayer of the Fortuna gas pipeline, as well as its owner, KVT-RUS, which could mean the imposition of restrictive measures against them.

However, both the company and the vessel are already on the list of US sanctions under other articles.

The State Department also did not offer to introduce new sanctions against any European companies that may be involved in the construction of the Russian project.
