Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, told Aljazeera that US sanctions should be lifted from the country within the next 3 months, Mehr reported.

He added that there is no need for talks on the US return to its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Ravanchi noted that if the sanctions are lifted from Iran within the next three months, the country will also return to its obligations.

He noted that the measures taken by Iran after Washington's withdrawal from the JCPOA did not lead to an escalation of tension.

In his interview, Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN also referred to the recent visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Marion Grossi to Tehran and noted that his comments on the need to lift the sanctions within three months are made in connection with the agreement reached with the IAEA head during his visit to Tehran.
