Russia Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko discussed the latest events in Yerevan with the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan, the Federation Council of Russia reported.

Matviyenko noted that Russia considers the ongoing events as internal and counts on resolving the situation exclusively in a peaceful manner.

Mirzoyan asked Matviyenko to assist in the return to Armenia of several women detained during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Matviyenko announced her readiness to help resolve this issue.
