The Israel Defense Forces is updating its plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, Defense Secretary Benny Gantz told Fox News on Thursday.

"If the world stops them before, it's very much good. But if not, we must stand independently and we must defend ourselves by ourselves," Gantz said in his first sit-down interview with an American outlet.

Gantz's announcement coincides with a time when US President Joe Biden is working to reopen talks with the Iranians as part of an effort to return to a 2015 nuclear deal with Iran (JCPOA). Israel opposes a return to the agreement and has put forward several demands that it would like to see fulfilled in the future.

During the interview, Gantz revealed a "classified" map showing Hezbollah's hundreds of thousands of missiles.

"This is a target map. Each one of them has been checked legally, operationally, intelligence-wise and we are ready to fight," Gantz added.
