Saudi Arabia has alternatives to US weapons, Prince of Saudi Arabia Abdul Rahman bin Musa'id Al Saud told the official Saudi TV.
The US is a strong country and a superpower, he said, but there are a number of alternative sources for much of what Saudi Arabia needs. As examples, he pointed to the UK and France, with which Riyadh made an arms deal due to US restrictions on arms sales.
The Saudi prince, who currently does not hold official government posts, downplayed the Biden administration's stance towards his country. He explained it by the election promises of President Joe Biden and expressed confidence that he would soon abandon it, like his predecessors.
Washington suspended arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in February due to their role in the Yemeni war.
