Facebook will begin tagging posts about vaccines to combat misinformation, the company says on its website.
As the company notes, the tags contain reliable information about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines from the World Health Organization.
For example, tags inform that vaccines are tested for safety and efficacy prior to approval. Tags will be used in all countries and will contain information in English, Spanish, Indonesian, Portuguese, Arabic and French, with more languages coming soon.
The company also announced that it is launching a coronavirus clearinghouse on Instagram for all countries, which will contain information about the virus from local health authorities and the WHO. Facebook also added that it will add new stickers to the platform to encourage vaccinations.
