With handcuffs connected to each other and signs reading “Return Captives or Stop the Negotiations” and “We Are All Captives”, ladies and women held a demonstration in front of the National Assembly of Armenia today with the demand that all relevant authorities of the country solve the issue related to the return of prisoners of war immediately.

Member of the Youth Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party Kristine Vardanyan stated that citizens of Armenia feel like captives during the administration of the current government because the representatives of the relevant authorities are unable to solve any issue and refuse to resign. “They are keeping the Armenian people in captivity. The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office is in Armenia and is meeting with the people representing Armenia. She has come to Armenia from Azerbaijan where the leader of the hostile country has declared that there are no Armenian prisoners of war, but we know that there are dozens, if not hundreds of prisoners of war, the fate of which remains undetermined. We don’t even know how many prisoners of war there are,” Vardanyan said and emphasized that Armenia hasn’t publicly responded to the statement.

“Citizens of Armenia, particularly ladies and women were compelled to come here today to demand again that the international community and all the relevant authorities of Armenia solve the issue of Armenian prisoners of war. We are here to call attention to this issue and demand the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war,” she added.
