Gibraltar has completed its program to vaccinate its adult citizens against the COVID-19 who wish to be vaccinated, The Washington Post reports.
UK Health Minister Matt Hancock called Gibraltar the first country in the world to complete a full adult vaccination program.
In all of Gibraltar, only about 30,000 people live, which contributed to the rapid vaccination. The fact that Gibraltar is an overseas territory of the UK also helped - it made it easier to access the vaccine.
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. Spain does not recognize British sovereignty over Gibraltar.
