Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts today held a video call with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Stanislav Rascan, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

During the conversation, the parties discussed issues related to the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Slovenia and particularly touched upon the agenda for the planned political consultations and the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit.

Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts presented the humanitarian situation created in Artsakh and the actions being taken to solve the urgent issues. The parties expressed concern about the politicization and the creation of artificial obstacles for the provision of humanitarian aid.

Adonts underscored the need to rule out the ongoing violations of international humanitarian law and human rights. In this context, he considered Azerbaijan’s violations of its obligations and commitments unacceptable and particularly underscored the importance of the immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians being kept as hostages and the unhindered access of humanitarian aid to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) through the Lachin corridor.
