The unblocking of roads and transport links will only be in the interests of Azerbaijan and Turkey so long as Armenia is not at least half a self-sufficient state in terms of diplomacy and the military. This is what secretary of the opposition Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Arman Abovyan said in parliament today.

According to the parliamentarian, Turkey’s and Azerbaijan’s ultimate goal is to destroy Armenia through Pan-Turkism. “Turkey and Azerbaijan don’t even hide the fact when they declare that Zangezur, Yerevan, Sevan and all of Armenia are their historical territories,” Abovyan said and recalled that Turkey is strengthening its fourth army corps located 15-16 km away from its border with Armenia.

“Azerbaijan and Turkey regularly hold military exercises and again, on the Armenian-Turkish border or on the border of Armenia and the temporarily occupied territories of Nagorno-Karabakh,” Abovyan stressed.
