Armenia intends to use culture as a diplomatic tool. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Aivazian said in response to deputies’ questions during today’s question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament.

Aivazian said the cultural diplomacy commission under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held its first session on March 20, adding that the platform is very important since now, more than ever, it is necessary to intensify cultural cooperation with the international community.

Aivazian mentioned that the millennial heritage, culture and arts of the Armenian people need to become one of Armenia’s ‘business cards’ with the help of diplomacy. He also informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively working on preserving the cultural values that are in the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh that are now under the control of Azerbaijan.
