During today’s question-and-answer session with government officials, Minister of Health of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan said Armenia is waiting for the delivery of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine from Russia.
According to her, Armenia has initially reported nearly 300 cases of people getting infected with the coronavirus twice, but the Ministry of Health needs to conduct a detailed study to confirm that this concerns the coronavirus.
As far as vaccinations are concerned, the minister said the world is racing to obtain the maximum amount of doses.
“Armenia is also part of the process of purchasing vaccines through several programs. To date, the government has allocated sufficient resources and has already reached initial agreements over obtainment of the vaccine through COVAX,” Avanesyan said, adding that people at risk are being vaccinated at the expense of the state and that medical workers will also be vaccinated.
