Judge Mher Petrosyan of the Administrative Court of Armenia today rejected the motion of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia for his self-recusal, ex-chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan’s attorney Artur Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “The court substantiated that there are no grounds for submitting a self-recusal,” the attorney said and touched upon the grounds for the motion filed by the Office of the Prime Minister.
On March 17, Judge Mher Petrosyan of the Administrative Court upheld the motion filed by the attorneys of Onik Gasparyan to apply a measure for securing the claim, meaning that Onik Gasparyan would continue to serve as chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. After the Court announced its decision, the Office of the Prime Minister filed a motion for the judge’s self-recusal. A day after the Court announced its decision, on March 18, officers of the National Security Service paid a visit to the Court with the request to meet with Judge Mher Petrosyan, but he rejected the request.
