YEREVAN. - Video cameras providing 360-degree surveillance were installed in crowded places of the Armenia’s capital.

Video surveillance will be carried out in Republic, Liberty, Charles Aznavour, France, David of Sassoon Squares, as well as in Tsitsernakaberd area. Selected cameras’ view is available on www.myyerevan.am website, the director of the Technology Management Center of Yerevan Ara Yaghdjyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am-Innovations. According to him, cameras providing surveillance on three Yerevan squares will join the network soon.

Yaghdjyan said that about 70 video cameras were installed in Yerevan, including 10 cameras in crowded squares, 55 cameras on bus stops and 5 cameras at busy crossroads.

The public will have an opportunity to follow video cameras online. The decision to install the cameras is aimed at securing public order, traffic control, and rapid reaction to law enforcement agents.

About 180 surveillance video cameras will be installed in all subway stations of Yerevan by September.
