Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Davit Babayan presented the situation regarding Azerbaijan’s renunciation of the return of Armenian captives and hostages during a meeting with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar and provided some details during a conversation with reporters.
“The meeting was very important. What happened with us is a major issue and a challenge for the international community. We discussed various issues, but I won’t give an evaluation now. It is necessary to work and use all the channels in order to get out of this situation,” the minister said.
According to him, the issue of captives and hostages in Azerbaijan was particularly in focus. “We expressed our concern and presented the real situation regarding captives and the hostages in general. Azerbaijan isn’t reporting the precise figures. This means there are certain tasks and plans, and probably criminal plans. Thus, the international community needs to have more opportunities to consider and solve the issue,” Babayan emphasized.
