Foreign Policy journal published the Failed States’ Index for 2011 prepared by Fund for Peace.

Total of 177 countries included in the list are studied according to 12 socio-economic and political indicators, says Fund for Peace. Among them - disparity in development, legitimacy of public authorities, level of dissatisfaction with the authorities of certain social groups and human rights maintenance, reports zakon.kz.

Armenia ranked 101 among 177 states constituting the list. It holds the same line for the second year in a row.

Georgia ranked 47 (37th in 2010), Azerbaijan - 63 (55th in 2010). Iran holds 35th row (32nd in 2010), Russia - 82 (80th in 2010).

The magazine publishes its annual list in an order determining the efficiency of the performance of countries’ authorities. First place goes to the country that gained most points for development failure. The list is headed by Somalia. Chad, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Haiti are among top 5.

Finland is the last state in the list, which means it is the most successful state. It overtook Norway as the most efficient state among the 177 surveyed countries for the first time.
