YEREVAN. - Iran’s position on Karabakh is critically important for Armenia. Tehran has more reasons for involvement in Karabakh conflict settlement than Turkey, Armenian MP from Heritage Party Larisa Alaverdyan told a press conference in Yerevan on Tuesday.

According to her, Iran’s factor overweighs in its importance some institutions, identifying themselves with the West, befuddled by oil vapors. However, the MP did not specify them.

Commenting on the fact that Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held a telephone conversation with Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in a day, the MP noted that Iran is a country, interested in and close to the Karabakh issue. In this regard, Alaverdyan expressed content with Iran’s balanced and tolerant policy.
