Former Iranian Deputy FM Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh is arrested on charges of corruption and infringement of the law, Fars news agency reports.

Earlier 25 Iranian lawmakers signed a motion to impeach Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehiafter he appointed Malekzadeh as his deputy.

Iranian FM promised to dismiss Malekzadeh, in case his infringements of the law are proven.

Later parliamentarians suspended the impeachment proceedings.
