The New York Attorney General's office has launched an investigation into the Trump Organization of former US President Donald Trump, NBC News reported.

According to prosecutors, the Trump Organization artificially inflated the value of assets to obtain new loans. The case was opened after former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen openly stated that the Trump Organization often resorted to such practices.

Earlier, employees of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided the apartment of the former mayor of New York and Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudolph Giuliani. Giuliani called this search uncontrolled, carried out in an attempt to set up the owner of the apartment. During the search, federal agents took out all electronic devices - computers and other office equipment.
