European Parliament calls for the release of all Armenian prisoners of war without preconditions and full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, MEP Isabel Santos, one of the authors of the resolution on the release of Armenian prisoners of war, told the EP.

Many people are forced to flee their cities during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. There was an agreement on the exchange of prisoners of war, detainees, and the remains of the dead. 

"And it is unacceptable that there are still Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan. And we are hearing reports of torture - this is a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.

We call for the unconditional release of all the prisoners of war and for the agreement to be fully applied.

Both sides must abandon the hostile rhetoric and come back to the negotiation table," she noted.
