YEREVAN. – Naturally, we are not satisfied with the CSTO response; we expect the CSTO to make unequivocal statements and actions and the Turkish-Azerbaijani army to be thrown out from there without further escalations; that is, through peaceful negotiations. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and head of its National Assembly (NA) faction, on Tuesday told this to reporters at the NA.

He added, however, that they do not have inside information from the CSTO. "Our demand is the following: to withdraw those armed forces from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia without provoking a new war. Yes, I have said that the negotiation format is right, with forming a clear international pressure, including from a strategic ally, the CSTO, France made a statement, thus to take those troops out of there," Marukyan said.

And asked why Russia is inactive and why it does not take steps, the BAP leader responded: "Proceedings have been initiated in the CSTO, it is being discussed. I can say that during the meeting with the chairman of the Russian State Duma at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, I said that the CSTO should give a clear response, and I received the answer that, ‘Yes, you are right.’ As long as those troops are in our territory, nothing can satisfy us."
