The UN said it was still waiting for convincing evidence that Sheikha Latifa, the daughter of the ruler of Dubai, was alive after her photo appeared in public on social networks, AFP reported.

In February, the UN Human Rights Office requested evidence of the condition of the daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikha Latifa after the BBC showed a video filmed by Latifa in which she said she was imprisoned in a villa and feared for her life.

The 35-year-old daughter of the ruler of Dubai has not appeared in public after a failed escape attempt from the UAE in March 2018.

This week, an unverified Instagram account posted two photos of Latifa at a restaurant and mall in Dubai.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights told reporters that the UAE declined to comment on the Instagram photos.
