Armenia can declare martial law only in case of sharp escalation of the situation. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in response to MPs’ questions in parliament today.

Nevertheless, according to him, the authorities hope there won’t be such an outbreak and they will succeed in discharging the situation.

Armenia will hold snap parliamentary elections on June 20, but, according to certain observers and politicians, they might be canceled due to the incursion of Azerbaijani troops into Syunik and Gegharkunik Provinces.
