YEREVAN. - President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Mevlut Cavusoglu turned PACE platform into his own street stand, Secretary of ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told a press conference on Saturday. The MP commented on Cavusoglu’s allegation that Armenia and Turkey are holding talks on the future fate of the security zone around Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Cavusoglu has become so impudent that he makes irresponsible statements from the PACE platform. Yerevan has repeatedly stated that Armenia-Turkey rapprochement has nothing in common with Karabakh conflict resolution. Certainly, Yerevan will not discuss the issue with Ankara. If Turkey is interested in the fate of territorial issues, it must first resolve its own territorial problems, particularly, pull back from Northern Cyprus and resolve the Kurdish issue,” Sharmazanov emphasized. “If Turkey does wish to contribute to the swift resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, it should stay away from the peace process.”
