YEREVAN. – If the parties accept the proposal to deploy international observers on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, tension will be considerably reduced. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party and head of its National Assembly (NA) faction, stated this Monday during the traditional briefings at the NA.

Marukyan noted, however, that he did not see any concrete response to acting PM Nikol Pashinyan's aforesaid proposal. "Concerns have been raised about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, but no country has, in fact, expressed readiness to deploy its observers on the border," the opposition MP said.

He added that there was no response from Azerbaijan either.
