The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has commented on the calls for the release of Armenian captives with infinite hypocrisy, turning everything upside down once again.

“Baku supports the calls of the international community for a peaceful solution to the escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and for delimitation and demarcation,” spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva declared.

At the same time, to date, in the civilized world, there is no example of demarcation between countries that don’t have diplomatic relations.

“Azerbaijan has declared several times that it supports the calls for weakening of tension through negotiations. As is known, Azerbaijan also supports the proposal to set up a trilateral commission for demarcation and delimitation,” Abdullayeva said.

Moreover, she stated that it is necessary to respect the territorial integrity of both countries in case there is demarcation and delimitation.

Commenting on the statement by the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Abdullayeva stated that “Azerbaijan detained 6 Armenian servicemen while they were making provocations against the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan” (at that moment, Azerbaijani subdivisions were at a 1.5-2.5 km distance from the border of Armenia).

“When the anti-infantry mines that Armenia has placed in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan poses a threat to people every day, when Armenia refuses to provide information about mine maps, before offering exchange of servicemen, the Co-Chairs needed to pay attention to the reasons for their detention,” she said, noting that the Co-Chairs can play a role in ensuring peace in the region.

This hypocritical statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan truly doesn’t recognize borders. Azerbaijan fails to implement the provisions of the trilateral statement, isn’t returning the captives and is violating the territorial integrity of Armenia, and it is Azerbaijan that was using banned arms during the war.
