The incumbent authorities haven’t fulfilled any promise, and I don’t understand what ideas they will be sharing with the people ahead of the upcoming elections. The second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, stated this in an exclusive interview with RBC television of Russia.

The ex-president commented on his return to politics with the following: “We’re going to the elections with a bloc. Between 1998 and 2008, Armenia developed at a rapid pace, recorded economic growth, the budget grew eight-fold, and the GDP grew six-fold. I have great experience in large business. I believe Armenia is in a good position. We simply need to work with the people and be patient,” Kocharyan stated, adding that the authorities are going to the elections without any ideas.

“The authorities have failed. No court has rendered a decision on corruption cases over the past three years. The economy is declining. Nobody can see what happened to the recovered funds. They say the funds are spent for defense, but the war showed that the funds weren’t spent for defense,” Kocharyan said.

When told that the authorities stayed in power after the war, Kocharyan said everyone is surprised by this.

“It’s clear that after all this, Pashinyan won’t be able to form a government. He will be represented in parliament, and even though this is also surprising, he will lose power,” Kocharyan said.
