YEREVAN. – Irregularities of territorial development in Armenia started to deepen parallel to speed of economical growth since 2000, states the “Concept on Armenia’s territorial development” presented by Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration. For example, the richest Vajots Dzor region registering the lowest level of poverty has the least developed agricultural, industrial and building production spheres. Yet, according to the concept, the irregular development of territories is mainly based on the growth of economical role and importance of Yerevan. As a result, the gap in the living standards between capital and regions, and within the regions grows. The concept aims to elaborate and install a system that will allow equal development of all territories. EU experts discussed and approved the concept.
