C-130 military aircraft crashed in the Philippines while landing, General of the country's armed forces Sirilito Sobehan said.

There were 85 people on board,  40 of them were rescued, but at least 29 people were killed, the number may increase, Reuters reported.

As the general noted, the plane did not hit the runway and caught fire after the crash.

Rescuers are working on the spot, we are praying to save lives, he added. The disaster took place on the island of Holo in the province of Sulu.
