The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has spread a message, according to which on the evening of July 9, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions in the border zone of Gegharkunik province.

The reports have been refuted by the Armenian defence ministry.

“The Armenian side did not open fire, and, as we have already noted, if necessary, it only carries out actions to counter the enemy,” the statement says.
