The Chamber of Deputies of Italy passed in the first reading a law on the legalization of small cannabis cultivation at home, the Corriere della Sera reported.
Italians can have up to 4 plant bushes at home.
Nevertheless, many MPs did not support the initiative - almost all right-wing parties voted against the law.
Now the MPs will have a short time to pass amendments to the law before finally voting on it.
