YEREVAN. - Golden Apricot International 8th festival will feature Hungarian famous director Bela Tarr’s three films - Kárhozat (Damnation), A Londoni férfi (The Man From London), and  A torinói ló (The Turin Horse) - in retrospective film section.

Tarr will attend the festival, Golden Apricot press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Critics often compare Tarr with Tarkovsky, Antonioni and Angelopoulos, and film experts characterize him as real, true and ’imaginative’.

Tarr’s last movie recently won Golden Bear in Berlin International Film Festival, where he declared that he leaves the cinema.

God, death and nihilism are the bases of Hungarian director’s films. The director himself does not like others to call his films metaphysical or give them philosophical generalizations. He recommends not to judge the films intellectually but ’believe the eyes and listen to the heart.’
