This year, the European Union (EU) has taken concrete steps to intensify dialogue with all countries of the region. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan stated about this at the parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates Thursday on Armenia’s draft state budget for 2022.

Gevorgyan recalled that the ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement ended in early 2021 and emphasized that the end of the ratification of the Agreement and its entry into force on March 1, 2021 is a significant event for the deepening of relations between Armenia and the EU.

Touching upon the major achievement made in the Armenia-EU relations over the past year, the diplomat stated that the EU attaches great importance to the regional approach to the whole South Caucasus. “In this regard, this year, the EU has taken concrete steps to intensify political dialogue with all three countries of the region. In this context, it is important to highlight the importance of a few visits during which major statements were made,” he said, touching upon the visit of President of the European Council Charles Michel.
