The Armenian-Russian allied relations strictly intensified in 2021, in spite of the coronavirus restrictions. Deputy Foreign Minister Armen Ghevondya stated about this at the parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates Thursday on Armenia’s draft state budget for 2022.

According to Ghevondyan, high-level visits are expected to be more frequent next year.

“The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. On this occasion, Armenia and Russia are agreeing on a list of events that will include high-level reciprocal visits, convocation of anniversary sessions of the intergovernmental commissions, holding of conferences devoted to the Armenian-Russian relations and more,” the deputy minister said, adding that the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Armenia held four meetings and more than a dozen phone talks, while the foreign ministers held five meetings and over a dozen phone talks.
