GYUMRI. - The Speaker of Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan intends to hold Parliamentary discussions on emigration issues.

When asked at a press conference in Gyumri, what are the parliament’s policies for prevention of emigration, the speaker mentioned the importance of national discussion.

“The intellectuals recently expressed their discontent in this regard. We are ready to hold parliamentary hearings and exert all our will to resolve this issue in cooperation with the government,” he said.

Abrahamyan emphasized that the issue will not to be solved instantly but the overall situation can be mitigated.

“The emigration has social reasons. We must reduce the social tension, expand employment opportunities,” added Adrahamyan.
