The aim of the initiative is to promote and spread the teaching of English in 24 schools in 22 rural communities in the Lori region of Armenia.

Deepening the knowledge of English in Armenia is key to being competitive in the local and international markets and finding jobs in the labor market.

Spreading the global business language and bringing cultural diversity to Armenia's most neglected communities, COAF and the US Embassy have worked closely over the past 10 years to take the necessary steps to improve their English proficiency. The number of participating students has increased from 100 to 1,465, ”the embassy said in a statement.

The new cooperation with the Ministry of Education will expand the geography of the initiative, helping more than 2,400 students to achieve the level of English proficiency at the C1 level. Simultaneously, 24 local teachers will take part in the 'Teaching English as a Foreign Language' program of the American University of Armenia in order to improve their qualifications, improve their knowledge of English and professional skills.
