  • The process of preparation for the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan will start from “point zero,” Andranik Kocharyan, a member of the majority "Civil Contract" Faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia said  Friday during the traditional press briefings at the NA.

According to him, Armenia has given its consent to participate in this process.

  • The Armenian side has six casualties during Tuesday’s battles in the eastern part of Armenia as a result of the attack by the Azerbaijani armed forces, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia reported.

These casualties are Senior Lieutenant Taron Sahakyan (born in 1990), and contract servicemen: Junior Sergeant Meruzhan Harutyunyan (born in 1991), Private Gurgen Sargsyan (born in 1990), Junior Sergeant Artur Martirosyan (born in 1998), Private Davit Amiryan (born in 1980), and another fallen soldier whose identity is still being determined.

  • The Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired at a tractor in the Verin Shorzha village of Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, head of Verin Shorzha village Artyom Yeranosyan told NEWS.am.

“There were a few gunshots. The firing stopped about 40 minutes ago,” Yeranosyan noted.

According to him, there are no victims, the situation is currently stable, and it has been calm over the past two days as well.

  • Letters and petitions for application of an immediate measure with respect to persons captured and deemed to be missing as a result of the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan on Nov. 16 will be sent to the European Court of Human Rights in the next few days, human rights activist Siranush Sahakyan told Armenpress.

“We are already receiving reports from the families of missing persons and captives and are exploring the incidents,” Sahakyan said.

  • A Californian Armenian couple who ran a scheme that stole millions in COVID-19 relief funds cut off their electronic bracelets and fled while waiting for their prison sentences, abandoning their three teenage children, authorities said, Insider reported.

Richard Ayvazyan, 43, and his wife, Marietta Terabelian, 37, used fake identities—including the names of elderly or deceased people and foreign exchange students who left the US—to claim money meant to aid small businesses and people suffering from the pandemic, federal prosecutors said.

On August 29, the couple fled and left a note for their children, The LA Times reported.

"We will be together again one day. This is not a goodbye but a brief break from one another," they wrote.

  • As of Friday morning, 799 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 332,713 in the country.

Also, 29 more deaths from COVID-19 were registered, making the respective total 7,212 cases.
