YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday sent condolences to his Russian counterpart Dmirty Medvedev for victims of “Bulgaria” steamer wrecked in Volga River.

Armenian President asked his counterpart to support and express his condolence to the relatives of the victims and wished soon recovery those who survived, President’s press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, the streamer set off Kazan. It had 208 passengers, among them 148 tourists, 35 members of the crew and 25 unregistered passengers.

After the wreck rescue groups took 55 corpses out of water (13 men, 37 women, 5 children. Their identity is still unknown).

79 people survived, others destiny is still unknown. Circumstances of the disaster are under investigation.

According to the Chief Prosecutor’s office, the streamer wrecked in Tatarstan was repaired 30 years ago, was out-of date and had no license for shipping operations.

Russian President declared July 12 the day of mourning in Russia.
