Export of wines of Artsakh has dropped by nearly 30-50%. This is what President of the National Wine Center of Armenia Avag Harutyunyan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“As a result of the war and the occupation of Artsakh’s territories, we completely lost three producers, two of which were providing a lot of wines. The third producer was a newcomer in the market, but made serious investments. We lost 25-30% of enterprises as a result of either shelling or seizure of the gardens by the enemy. We lost nearly 400 hectares of fruit gardens in Hadrut, and another 500 hectares of gardens in other sites.

During the year, producers faced the problem with registering the origin of the wines from Artsakh. This made the producers either register a second company in Armenia, or open a second factory so that the products could be exported. For instance, Kataro set up a factory in Armenia and started exporting its products from Armenia,” Harutyunyan said.
