Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has directed the country's chief of staff and energy minister to join efforts to help flood-hit residents of southern provinces, Tasnim reported.
Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian has been selected as a special presidential representative to visit flood-affected areas in the southern provinces of Hormozgan and Sistan and Balouchestan and prepare a report on relief programs
In addition, the president's chief of staff, on behalf of Raisi, established contacts with the governors of Fars, Sistan and Balouchestan, Hormozgan and Kerman to coordinate relief efforts and provide humanitarian assistance to the population.
Heavy rains have hit the southern provinces of Iran. At least eight people have been killed.
Two people are missing and 14 others have been injured in the floods.
