YEREVAN. - U.S. dollar continues depreciating in the Armenian market.

The average USD/AMD exchange rate made AMD 366.71/$1, a 0.06% decrease as compared with Thursday. However, it is too early to speak about stabilization of exchange rate due to low demand in commercial banks. Sales totaled only $2.3 million.

The exchange offices almost have not changed the rate and sold US dollar at AMD 368-369 /$1 and purchased at AMD 356/$1.

Survey conducted by Armenian News-NEWS.am in exchange offices of Yerevan revealed that the population sells more US dollars, thus the offer for dollar increased.

“US dollar deals usually become more active in summer but this year it exceeded expectations,” said one of the of the exchange office employees.
