Australian police used special means to disperse demonstrators at the building of the country's federal parliament in Canberra, four people were arrested, according to the CBC television channel.

According to him, the police used pepper gas against protesters in Canberra and arrested three men and one woman who were trying to break into the parliament building. According to the Australian Capital Territory Police Department, all those arrested were charged with disorderly conduct.

The department also said that the action was organized by opponents of vaccination, belonging to the same group that tripled the riots and set fire to the building of the Museum of Australian Democracy on December 30.

Earlier it was reported that the Australian federal police arrested and charged six men who started a fire in the old building of the Australian Parliament, which is considered a historical and cultural site. They were charged with arson and damage to property, as well as assaulting life support personnel and obstructing government officials while on duty.

The country's historic parliament building, which now houses the Museum of Australian Democracy, was set on fire during riots that broke out during a protest in Canberra on December 30. As a result of the fire, one of the entrances of the building was destroyed, and emergency workers had to evacuate the museum workers.
